English

This core subject must be taken all four years of high school, and focuses on different topics each year. It is designed to teach students how to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively in both speech and writing, as well as to read, interpret and evaluate texts through the study of literature in English. They are given texts in a range of forms, such as prose, poetry, and drama to analyze.

History

The Cambridge IGCSE History syllabus investigates some of the major international issues of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, analyzing the history of particular region s in more depth. The emphasis is on both historical knowledge and on the skills required for historical research. Students focus on major historical concepts such as cause and effect, continuity and change, similarity and difference, as well as how to use historical evidence.

Math

An essential subject for all learners, Cambridge IGCSE Mathemat ics is a fully examined course which encourages the development of mathematical knowledge as a key life skill, and as a basis for more advanced study. Learners will be challenged with difficult problem solving questions, and will develop a better feel for numbers, patterns, and relationships.

Science

The Cambridge curriculum for science includes IGCSE Biology for first years, Physics for second years, AP Chemistry the next year, and A Level Biology for seniors. Students learn about a range of topics, and develop an understanding of scientific skills which may be applied in daily life. An emphasis is placed on how scientific research may cause positive or negative effects on individuals, communities, and the environment.
